Zoo Cupcakes

These two cupcakes are joined together with long chocolate mints, six of them in all. They connect two cupcakes to make a cage. I put a plastic monkey inside. The question is to cage animals or not to cage animals? We went to Chester zoo for a day out. The tropical bird house was good and the twilight zone full of bats was a good experience. However, some creatures in cages looked so sad and neurotic. Some animals were the last of their kind and were being helped along with breeding and reintroduction into the wild, so this seemed OK.Labels: Animals

Your cupcakes are great! I understand what you mean about the zoo, I went to London Zoo in the summer... The animals were beautiful, and the work the zoo does is great, except I just cant get over the idea of beautiful wild creatures having to live in such confined conditions.
Anyway, I think using cupcakes for this type of reason is a good idea, its an easy way to make people aware of issues, without being too full on.
HI Rachel
I will contact you
Thanks

HI Jembogawa
Thanks for coming to the blog and your comments. I was in New Zealand recently and they had small very specialist zoos doing a great job at preserving their native birds, mammals , eels and lizards. They also had off-shore islands as preservation zones.I agree with your comment cupcakes are a great way of bringing up important issues. Drop by again
